A record built over generations
CUSBC won the national inter-university BUCS competition in four consecutive years and was named the inaugural University of Cambridge Sports Awards Team of the Year in 2020.
Five Varsity fixtures against Oxford anchor the Lent programme, alongside matches against universities, schools and local clubs. New shooters regularly progress from Michaelmas coaching to their first match in the same academic year.

The club
Smallbore at Cambridge
CUSBC is Cambridge University's smallbore rifle club. We shoot prone target rifle at the Queen Elizabeth Way range, a short cycle from the centre of town.
Most members arrive having never held a target rifle. Taster sessions begin with safety and position, then the Michaelmas novice programme builds toward league cards, matches and, for some, a place in a Varsity team.

A short introduction filmed with the club, followed by a few scenes from BUCS, dinner and shooting beyond the 25-yard range.
Term-time range programme
Several chances to shoot each week
Sessions run during University term. Timings can vary around matches and University closures. Senior training is for members able to shoot with a sling unaided.

Beyond the firing point
A club, not just a training slot
Friday socials at the Hawk's Club, normally from around 19:00, sit alongside dinners, swaps, pub crawls and joint events with CURA. You do not need Hawk's membership, and you certainly do not need to be a first-team shot.
